How To Cook Venison Steaks?


  1. Cooking Venison Steaks

    Cooking venison steaks is similar to cooking beef steaks but usually, venison steaks are thinner than beef steaks. So while cooking it we must be careful about the flame. It is advisable to keep the flame slow and cook them perfectly, but if one wishes to cook other than slow flame then ensure that it is kept in medium flame not more than that.

    Because keeping it too high can burn out the steak outside and undercooked inside, this is awful. The method of cooking also depends on the type of venison steak. If they are round then a Dutch oven would be perfect, if they are smooth the pan would be a good choice.

  2. Venison Steaks Marinade

    Take the defrosted venison steak, and place them separately. Now in a bowl add olive oil, ¾ cup of soy sauce, ½ cup of red wine vinegar, freshly squeeze half lemon, pepper (as per your spice tolerance), ½ cup Worcestershire sauce, fresh parsley, salt, 2 garlic cloves peeled, and crushed, 2 spoons dry mustard.

    Now mix all these well. It’s time to add the venison steak (2 pounds) into the bowl and give it a mix. Now transfer this mixture into an airlock bag or container seal them tight and leave them to rest for a day, but if you don’t have that much time then, an hour at least. The more time you marinate the tastier it will be.

    Cook Venison Steaks

    Cooking venison steak is a simple task overall but deals a lot of attention to it because a minute of diversion can cause a burnt steak, which is not a good deal for food lovers.

    Now place the marinated venison steak out of the refrigerator at least an hour before so that it comes back to room temperature. Because cooking frozen meat could burn them as it absorbs more heat or cooks affect the quality of your cooking.

    Now place a pan, add in some olive oil, and heat it.

    Once it is hot, put the marinated venison steak on the pan and cook it for a minute. Once done, flip it to the other side.

You can also use a grill or broiler to cook them. Before adding the steaks to the grill or broiler add some pepper and salt (if necessary). Now place the steak on the grill or broiler. Cook them for four to five minutes on each side. Now it’s done. Rest them for 5 minutes before serving. Serve them with sides.

  2. Sauteed Mushrooms And Onions

    Sauteed mushrooms and onions are always the best combinations for this. Now for this, place a pan, heat it, and pour some oil. Once it’s hot, it is time to add in some mushrooms and a quarter cup of yellow onions and some tablespoons of green onions. Add in some vegetables of your choice and sauté them well. Now add some coconut oil. Pour in some red wine vinegar and season it with some salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and any other seasonings of your choice. Stir them until translucent and serve them with your favorite venison steak.

    The best way to cook Brussel sprouts is to roast them because once they are cooked they turn mushy and taste bitter. This is the reason why many avoid them. But let’s cook them perfectly.

    Cut the edges, cut them vertically in half, and keep them ready. Now in an iron skillet put all these sprouts and drizzle some oil, minced garlic, basil, and oregano. Now add salt and pepper as per your taste and give it a mix. Now it’s time to bake them.

    Bake them at 425 ºF for twenty minutes. And after 20 minutes you need not wait any longer. Take them out and serve them along with venison steak. And be ready to make Brussel sprouts a favorite for many.

    Switch the oven to 180 º C. Add all your favorite vegetables to a big baking tray and season them generously with salt and pepper and drizzle some oil. Bake them for 45 minutes or even more if you like them roasted. Now add vegetable stock and cover to cook for minutes. Your salad is now ready to be served with your venison steaks.

  5. Roasted Cheesy Bacon Butternut Squash

    Cut the sides of the squash into long pieces and take out the seeds. Now cut them into cubes and set them aside. Now on a cutting board, cut the bacon into pieces of preferable sizes, smaller it is faster it cooks.

    Now in the skillet add the bacon, and the squash, add some oil preferably avocado oil, and season it with rosemary and some salt and pepper. After 45 minutes, add some grated cheese and bake them until the cheese melts (approx. 10 minutes).

    Soak the beans overnight. Ensure that you have poured in enough water for it to soak because the absorbs water. This process is essential because beans, when not soaked, are hard to cook and stand undercooked.

    Preheat the oven (to 325º F). Now, in a Dutch oven, cook bacon until they are crisp. Add in some onions and cook till they turn translucent, it might take 4-5 minutes. Now add some chopped garlic and stir them for a minute. Add in the reserved bean water and cook them to a simmer.

    It’s time to season them with paprika, salt, pepper, tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, apple cider vinegar, molasses, brown sugar, and bay leaves. Now transfer the Dutch oven with the lid to the middle of the oven rack and bake them for 2-3 hours until the sauces have thickened and the beans are cooked. Add in salt and pepper if not sufficient, and serve them with your venison steak.
